Unbox Industries has collaborated with Japanese horror manga artist Junji Ito on Frankenstein’s Monster, an art toy version of his haunting take on Merry Shelley’s Frankenstein. The figure is drawn from Ito’s Eisner award-winning Frankenstein manga. Underneath a hooded, cloth robe lurks Ito’s visceral, painfully human take on the tragic character. Unbox has created a frighteningly realistic rendition of Frankenstein’s scarred, stitched, and mutilated body. The character’s tortured existence is plain to see in the gruesome detail, from head to toe.
Initially released at Tokyo ComicCon and DesignerCon, Juni Ito’s Frankenstein’s Monster art toy will be available from Unbox’s online store on Saturday (1.18) at 7 AM PDT for $150/each.
