Floating on the potential offered in the New Year, mr clement will release two new porcelain sculptures for pre-order this weekend. Hanging On For Dear Love and Direction Of Flight each feature the artist’s Lapin characters aloft with the assistance of Ji Ja birds.
While there are definite similarities, each graceful sculpture has a slightly different feel. Hanging on for Dear Love embraces companionship and seemingly a sense of adventure and exploration with an unknown destination. As the title suggests, Direction of Flight presents a more driven, focused journey featuring a larger, perhaps older Lapin pointing out the destination or objective. The keys at his side may also suggest a task or goal to be achieved. Interestingly, each sculpture carries its own, specific shade: ‘Hanging On For Dear Love’ in White and ‘Direction Of Flight’ in Black.
mr clement will offer his Hanging On For Dear Love (13.78 x 9.84 x 8.07″) and Direction of Flight (13.78 x 9.84 x 10.04″) for pre-order on Saturday (1.25) at 3:59 PM PST from his online store. Handcrafted completely by the artist at the Lapin Factory, the new porcelain editions are slated for delivery in Mid-March of 2020.
