Cameron Tiede’s new ‘Wood Candy Workshop’

001-WCW-large

Many of you will remember Cameron Tiede.  He was active as an LA-based artist both with gallery shows, customs, a line of vinyl toys, and several limited-edition wood releases including his awesome Blooming Death.   For the past several years he’s taken a bit of a hiatus while  continuing to grow his woodworking skills, add yet more power tools to his studio in Flowermound, Teaxs, and develop a new, refined aesthetic.  The result is his ‘Wood Candy Workshop’.

With Wood Candy Workshop Cameron will be focusing on creating and producing limited-edition design objects in premium hardwoods.  And yes, that includes a few toys.  First up in fact is Chester, a 5.25” wood figure made of 17 individually cut pieces of Walnut, Cherry, Maple and Padauk.  Shown in the teaser after the jump, Chester will debut in a natural wood edition, hand-rubbed in 100% pure Tung oil and waxed with a special natural bees wax.   Look for more information soon on Wood Candy Workshop and Chester, which will be released in late October.  In the mean time, head on over to woodcandyworkshop.com to join the mailing list to receive the latest news on releases as well as a free shipping coupon for use when purchasing Chester.
