As you might have already heard, voting for the 2013 Designer Toy Awards has begun. You can head over now and vote for your favorites in each category; once every 24 hours. What’s important to note here is this first round of voting is to determine the finalists for each category not the winners and ends on July 1st.
Finalist Selection
Once the initial round of voting is complete, what happens next depends on the category. For the majority of the categories, the top five voted nominees will become finalists along with four finalists chosen by a finalist committee. For five categories call ‘em the public categories – Best Blog, Best Collection, Best Toy Store, Best Online Toy Store, and Fan Favorite, the nine top voted nominees will become the finalists.
2nd Round of Voting to Determine Winners
Once the finalists are chosen there will be a second round of voting (7.24 – 9.1) to determine winners. For the majority of categories, this second round of voting will be restricted to the DTA board members made up of industry professionals. However, for Best Blog, Best Collection, Best Toy Store, Best Online Toy Store and Fan Favorite, the winners will be determined in a second round of public voting – pretty much identical in format to the first round of voting.
Winners will be announced on October 12th during an awards ceremony in NYC during the NYCC weekend. Btw, we’re pleased to have been nominated in the ‘Best Blog’ Category once again.
