Over this past week we’ve brought you initial teasers and a video trailer of Junko Mizuno’s upcoming Kuro Megami Kidrobot Black Figure. Now, here’s a full look at the 11″ goddess cast in black vinyl with gold accents and accompanied by two clear, winged guardians. True to Junko’s art, Kuro Megami is darkly seductive. Her pose emphasizes the cycle of life (and death) — clear domes over her breasts and womb feature symbolic, sculpted elements including a skull and heart. True to the Kidrobot Black concept, the figure’s strong sculpt carries the design with detailed elements throughout from the numerous flowers flowing across her body to her heavily textured hair.
Limited to just 200 pieces, Kuro Megami will be released on Tuesday November 20th from black.kidrobot.com for $400. The newest KR Black figure continues the imprint’s tradition of releasing toys with artistic visions realized through bold and distinctive imagery freed from the need to cater to the mainstream, the status quo and prevailing art toy conventions.
