Seen: Arkiv Vilmansa — ‘The Aftermath’ @ TAG

Arkiv returned to Toy Art Gallery on Saturday for his ‘The Aftermath‘ solo. For his second exhbition with the gallery, Arkiv created a new collection of acrylic + ink paintings in his signature style marked by crisp, flowing lines forming his various characters and wondrous fauna. His work sits in a sweet spot between figurative and abstract, blending character with geometric forms.

The new show also marked the debut of the new 4′ fiberglass Libertine sculpture. Produced by TAG, both the black and traditional green fiberglass editions (5 pcs, $2900) are based on the orginial 15″ resin edition. While both are impressive, the mix of golden accents on the black edition is quite striking. If four feet isn’t quite your speed, you’ll be happy to know that TAG is busy at work on a Libertine vinyl. And speaking of vinyl, Arkiv has another original vinyl in the works as well…

If you missed the show, check the gallery’s preview page for the full-run down on artwork availability and pricing.
