From the imagination of NYC artist JK5 (he of the Flowbots) comes a curious hybrid creation – the RJ-K5 Astrofresh Basketball Droyd resin produced by Kidrobot. Slamming together sci-fi and bball, the 8.5” tall base-mounted pieces are quirky, eye-catching, and potentially polarizing. Personally the combination, while unexpected, works. The hybrid nicely fuses both inspirations into something familiar yet new. The sculpt itself looks to be well-done especially in terms of the bball texture.
The RJ-K5 will be released by Kidrobot on March 8th in two editions the orange Galactic Game Ball and the Hyperspace All-star, each editions of 327, for $100 each.
