In three quick years Designer Con has become a favorite for LA area Designer Toy and Urban Art collectors with its welcome variety of vendors, relaxed (read: sane) pace, and fun vibe. The 2011 show is right around the corner, Saturday November 5th (10 AM to 5 PM) to be exact @ the Pasadena Convention Center. If you missed last year’s show and are wondering what it’s all about, take a look at our coverage of DesignerCon 2010.
In addition to the exhibitor hall full of vendors, the 2011 program includes several popular features from last year’s show including Goodie Bags ($5, 100 bags), Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School (), the return of the World’s Biggest ‘Blindbox Time’ (records are made to be broken) as well as a LEGO Art show featuring original LEGO sculptures curated by Brandon Griffith. Live Painting? Of course. Expect several of the attending artists to showcase their talent on the center stage. Doktor A, Scott Tolleson, Ragnar, Chris Ryniak, Brandt Peters, Kathie Olivas, Mr. Toast, Christopher Lee,Leecifer, DrilOne, Tracy Tubera, Holly Stanway, and Neil Winn will be at the ‘con. One thing to take note of – admission is now $7 at the door, though tickets will be available online prior to the show for $5.
