Toy2R and Yoyamart presented NYC♥QEE tonight to a fairly packed house which included plenty of collectors and one surly Wolverine (err… Hugh Jackman). The show featured a strong custom MiniQee exhibition highlighting the new 5” DIY Qees. There’s some strong work on display. Coinciding with Toy Fair, Toy2R showcased several upcoming products including Skeleanimals 2, Domo Qee Series 3 (Urban Outfitters Exclusive, Mid-march) and the new Kaiju Bossy Bears. They also showed a proto of Jason Freeny’s upcoming Visible Qee featuring a complete plastic skeleton embedded in a clear qee – we’re really excited about this one. It’s exactly the type of figure that will bring some much needed excitement back into the art toy genre. Finally, two new 7” Metallic ABS Qees were apparently available for purchase including a translucent one filled with colored balls. Nice. Thanks to John Wong for the pics.
