Gibson and Kramer Guitars will welcome an international art crowd to Miami for ‘Art Assault’, a charity exhibition of artist customized guitars and large-format designer toys opening on December 3rd @ the Gibson Guitar Showroom in the Wynwood / Design District during Art Basel Miami. Organized in conjunction with Outta My Mind Creations and MaiHiro, ‘Art Assault’ will feature eleven customized Kramer Assault 211FR guitars from a talented lineup including: Michael Lau, Nakanari, Pete Fowler, Christian Jacobs (Yo Gabba Gabba), 123klan, Matt Waldman (Nooka), Camilla d’Errico, Ashley Wood, Long Vo, Lebo and Oscar-winning actor/artist Jeff Bridges.
To compliment the custom guitar display which features work from several noted art toy creators, Art Assault has also partnered with Kidrobot on the ‘Dunny Superband’ with five custom 20” Dunny art toy band members created by kaNO, Dave ‘Outtamymind’ Quiles, Tracy Tubera, Jure Gavran, and Rotobox Vinyl Anatomica. In addition to the 20” Dunnys, Art Assault will feature new art toys and related sculptures with pieces by and support from Kuso Vinyl, myplasticheart, SHON, Jure Gavran, Fury Animals, 123klan, MaiHiro and Dragatomi.
After the show wraps-up on December 5th, the guitars and custom Dunnys will be auctioned online with proceeds benefitting the Gibson Foundation which works to brighten the lives of children.
