Swatch and the TTR World Snowboard Tour have launched their Swatch TTR Trophy “Art Rules” Design Contest in which contestants will be asked to lend their skills to flesh out the design of the new 2010/2011 TTR Tour trophy created by Mark Landwehr of Coarse Toys Mark was a natural choice given his focus on extreme sports and as you can see above the result is pretty sweet. While dynamic, the 36cm (14.4”) resin statue is a blank slate – no deco or paint whatsoever. The Art Rules contest will change that.
Each contestant will create a design for the Landwehr designed trophy as well as a matching Swatch watch. The winning design will inform the final design of the trophy and the watch which will be produced and distributed world-wide in 2010/2011. Plus, the winner will receive a two-week creative vacation to Shanghai including transporation, accomodations and pocket money.
