The Bic Buddy Custom Show opened on Saturday evening (3.27.10) at Crewest in LA to a strong turnout eager to check out all the customs, and get their hands on the new 8” Bic Buddys. Here’s a look at the opening focusing on the artists, signings, and sketches. We also shot detailed photos of the customs on preview night – check ‘em out. A couple of new customs made an appearance for the public opening including David Flores’s purple gangsta Buddy and Angry Woebots’ sweet piece (one of our favorites from him).
A good group of artists made it out for the party including Marka27, kaNO (newly relocated to LA), Dez Einswell, Reactor-88, John Stokes, Scribe, Man One, Ritzy Periwinkle, Jesse Hernandez, and Gustavo Alberto Garcia Vaca.
While the new 8” DIY Bic Buddys were available for purchase at the show, the new Half Dead buddy by Marka27 was unfortunately held up in customs in LA. With any luck, Crewest will have them in stock shortly. Both the DIY and the Half Dead buddy are available from Crewest’s online shop.
If you missed the opening, go check it out – there’s some great work in this show. It’s time to get acquainted with the Bic Buddy. With the new 8” size and the upcoming 20” – you’ll be seeing plenty more of this new platform.
