Coming up on Saturday, Marh 6th at Lulubell Toy Bodega is the opening reception of David Christiana’s solo show “To Have and To Hold”. Just from the preview, we can tell that this show will be amazing. David is a truly talented individual and works hard at his craft. This show will feature paintings in all different sizes and all different mediums. “To Have and To Hold” begins at 6PM until 9PM and will run until March 31st. [Press] David Christiana’s life is a blur of activities that include professor-ing at University of Arizona, illustrating twenty some picture books and counting, writing, and wrestling with, among other things, the
desert. He draws to shave the fuzz off his existence, looking for
things languid and still that might bring his own personal blur into
focus.Mr. Christiana’s extensive career has included many accomplishments,
such as having his books translated into over 30 languages and
reaching a readership in over 60 countries. Some of his more recent
books, published through Disney, have reached the New York Times’ Best-
Sellers List. Along with exhibiting his work in galleries around the
country, he has been on faculty at the University of Arizona since
1991. He has also won many awards from several prestigious
institutions including a Certificate of Merit from the Society of
Illustrators and an Award of Excellence from Applied Arts Magazine
Illustration and Photography Annual, among others.
