Plaseebo’s Bob Conge has been quietly making his own unique and refreshing brand of figures that he often describes as ‘American kaiju’. Now he’s teamed up with Kaiju heavyweight Blobpus on the Dokupus meets Skulloctopus (Love at First Sight) set. So what’s a Skulloctopus? A hybrid mechanical and organic creature created by a doomed spaceship’s computer as a means of saving itself. Be sure to read Bob’s full origin story after the jump.
The super limited US edition is limited to just 15 sets of figures hand-painted by Bob Conge and features one Plaseebo Skulloctopus (clear green vinyl, inset glass eyes, color-changing led in head) and Blobpus Dokupus (black vinyl, clear purple head w/gid red brain, color-changing LED, and yellow eye insert). While these will look sharp in daylight, they reall shine when the lights go down with their nice mix of GID elements and the color changing LED units.
The set will drop on Friday August 14th from plaseebo.net for $150/set. It will be followed by a Japan paint version from Blobpus (ed. of 15). Bob Conge continues to do things his way with definite flair, color us impressed.
