From his Squadt project to his new Misfortune Cat figure, Ferg is on a roll. Based on the ubiquitous Asian good luck cats, Ferg’s humorous flip-side design features a sharp blade through the skull and a defiant and perhaps wacky tongue wag. The new figure stands 9” tall, has a rotocast vinyl body with injection pieces for the eyes and tongue which will allow for those parts to be done in clear plastic as needed. The shots above are test samples and show off the nice sculpt.
The Misfortune Cat is the debut product from PLAYGE – a new collaborative toy company from Ferg and Threezero for products that don’t mesh with Jamungo’s concept and aesthetic.
On a side note, Fortune Cat based toys are becoming a small sub-genre. With this one we count at least three such designer figures including Miao and the RxH minis. Are we missing others ? Let us know.
