The advanced release of the first six Disney x MINDstyle Stitch figures @ FX 09 went extremely well with most if not all of the designs selling out of the limited quantities on hand (50 for most, 25 for some). Ron English, Buff Monster, kaNO, Angry Woebots, and Peekaboo monster each had their own booth for signing of the figures and sketching. After a few go arounds, it was quickly discovered that it’s possible to sign the figure without removing from the box (it’s got a bungie style tie-down which allows it to be repositioned in place) – speeding up the process.
The combination of the creative designs and the clear popularity of Stitch drew collectors from Orlando and one collector all the way from the Pacific Northwest. Craving all things Stitch, she flew down to the show to add the new pieces to her collection which includes a Stitch TV from Japan, plush, toys, and a few oddities including a Stitch Toilet Plungers (again, from Japan).
