Yesterday we were cruel, evil, bad people – teasing you with shadows of a group of Joe Ledbetter’s hand-painted customs of his well-known and loved vinyl figures. As promised we’re back for the reveal 😉 While Joe doesn’t do customs very often at all, when he does the results are striking – each of these is cleanly executed and could be mistaken for new colorways instead of one-off pieces.
Let’s see what we have here (left to right) – the South Paw Ringo is a homage to Luke Chueh’s South Paw painting. Adorable in pink, Ms. Bunny has had a beauty makeover – a new sculpted raised eyebrow. You’ll also note that unlike her male counterpart, she doesn’t have the enormous front teeth. Next up is Fire-Catzilla, based partially on his recent painting of the fire breathing one. On the far right is my personal favorite – Thundercornasaurus. For the eagle-eyed, the lightning bolt charm was carved out of the original production charm. You might recognize this fellow from the original Unicornasaurus box – too bad KR never made this one. Do I smell a board “list” ?
While all four of these excellent customs have been adopted into loving homes, we can all enjoy the pictures and dream 😉 Be sure to check out our exclusive photo gallery loaded with pics after the jump.
