Japanese online bear store Danke Schoen have invited 15 Japanese artists to create original one-off work for the 100% Free Exhibition which will open on April 4th and run through the 19th @ Stitch in Tokyo. Each artist will base their creations on the Danke Schoen mascot bears and the ‘100% Free’ theme. Participating artists include such familiar names as Touma, Shin Tanaka and many more. If Danke Schoen sounds familiar, it’s almost certainly because Touma designed the Danke and Schoen bears for the shop which were first released as plush toys. Since Touma’s involved you might think vinyl was in play, and you’d be right! Prototypes of the Danke Schoen soft vinyl figure will be displayed at the show. Current plans call for an Okinawa exhibition after the Tokyo showing.
