The Switcheroo Workshop hosted Bwana Spoons last night (12.20) for a winter evening of art, toys, giveaways in the form of ‘Dork Prizes’ from STRANGEco  and relaxed fun.  If you’ve been reading Vinyl Pulse for the last week or so, you’ll know that the first edition of Bwana’s hand-painted  Rainbowsaurus – the Wildasaurus dropped at the event.

Bwana worked hard both in Portland and here in Pasadena to offer a wide selection of art for fans including a large number of new original paintings on paper and several custom toys. The paintings were hung on string with clothespins for a mini-installation feel.   Several other products from Switcheroo  debuted for the first time including the Steven the Bat Belt Buckles, the Bwana Spoons x Amanda Visell print sets(ed. of 50, $150).

As Winter descends upon SoCal (well … it’s cold by our standards), the roll-up door was kept shut to let the crowd enjoy the art in relative comfort.  Bwana’s show drew a good mix of visitors including collectors, fans, friends, and several local artists and industry folks including Buff Monster, Dov Kelemer (DKE Toys), Jay Nailor (M Modern),  Joe Ledbetter, Lola, Nathan SpoorPatrick Lam (Munky King),   Seonna Hong and Tim Biskup.  Enjoy our pics from the event after the jump.
