If it wasn’t already, Art Basel in Miami is probably on your radar now. And if not, let’s make it clear that even if you’re not normally into gallery art – you need to pay attention if for no other reason than Kaiju Monster Invasion which opens on December 3rd @ Artcenter South Florida. Curated by Harold Golen of the Harold Golen Gallery, the show features custom figures + original artwork from top kaiju creators as well as lowbrow artists who are crossing over into the exciting genre.
Ok so that was a long intro to the real point of this post… Mark Nagata of Max Toy Co is dropping bombs for his contributions to the show. He’s got a custom Eyezon with base (completely with “floating” eyeballs) and two one-off Tripasus with a special Prisma coating for a very fine glitter effect. The tripasus in particular, look really sharp – can’t wait to see them in person.
Plus… Mark is working with sculptor / ceramics guru Miruzu on one-of-a-kind giant ceramic Eyezons. These are are monstrous at 20+” and come with their own special wooden boxes. Pics of everything after the jump.
