Kidrobot announced their October releases yesterday and after a fairly light September schedule (albeit with Dunny S5), things have picked up with seven releases slated for next month. After a two month hiatus, the 8” Dunnys have returned with a double dose.
Let’s go in reverse chrono order. The one that’s sure to get attention is Huck Gee’s I’m Insane 8” Dunny based on his limited-edition customs. It comes blood-splattered and ships imprisoned by a cotton straightjacket and mouth-guard. (nice touch). It’s limited to 500 pieces which according to KR is “insanely rare” – things have definitely moved forward in terms of rarity. Notice that most 8” Dunnys are announced without any mention of a production run. Inevitable really. This one drops on Thursday October 30th, just in time for All Hallow’s Eve. The pain? $50. Release parties? Yup. 29th at KRSF and 30th at KRLA.
On October 2nd, Kidrobot will drop the Nightmare in Jeremyville 8” Dunny by none other than the pervasive Australian artist and designer Jeremyville. This frenetic and ambitious design (especially the back) comes with a decaying carrot accessory (hmmm….) and a 14 x 17” “Nightmare” comic poster. $50 and it’s yours. From Jeremyville’s blog we know there will be a release and signing party on October 2nd at KRNY [6-8 PM].
