Kaiju’s popularity is surging in the USA. Today, Super7 announceed their new distribution network (starting on 1.1.08) which will enable their nine partner stores to release the newest figures from several top Japanese companies on the same day as they are released in Japan.
Now here are the details… S7’s new distro network will carry their own releases (including their new Ghost Land line) and some of the leading Japanese brands including Secret Base, Gargamel, RealxHead, Rumble Monsters, Cronic, Skull Toys, Anraku Ansaku, Buster Call, Pop Soda and Ichiban-boshi. The network’s partner stores are Rotofugi (Chicago), Toy Tokyo (NYC), Giant Robot (LA, SL, SF, NY), Ultra Pop (KY), WTHN (PA) and Lulubell(AZ).
This network should make it easier for collectors to acquire the
newest figures and also should help newer collectors learn about
Kaiju’s tremendous variety. Also with simultaneous Japanese and US releases, hardcore US collectors may not have to rely so heavily on collector services in Japan. We’ll see if this is the next step for Kaiju in the states — going to be interesting for sure.
