Swerve Festival — Art, Music + Film (9.28 – 9.30)

So… Looking for something different to pass the time this weekend? Check out the newly created Swerve Festival showcasing West Coast culture through art, music, film and action sports starting today, Friday the 28th and running through the weekend in Hollywood @ Barnsdall Art Park.  A Fuel.tv initiative, the festival features free concerts and art exhibitions. Here’s a quick run down —

Music —   We Are Scientists, Black Angels, Bonde Do Role, Oh No! Oh My!, Foreign Born, Snowden, Illinois, Thee More Shallows and more.

Art —  Thomas Campbell, Todd James, Chris Johanson, Matt Leines, Ashley Macomber, Geoff McFetridge, Mike Mills, Chris Pastras, Terry Richardson, Ed Templeton, Sage Vaughn, and more.

Film —  Beautiful Losers, Surfwise, Control, The Man Who Souled The World and more. 

The music performances and art exhibitions  are free.  Tickets are available now for the various film screenings – including a work-in-progress screening of  Beautiful Losers (Saturday, 2 PM, $10) featuring the art of Ed Templeton, Jo Jackson, Chris Johanson, Margaret Kilgallen, Barry McGee, Stephen Powers, Geoff McFetridge, Mike Mills, Harmony Korine, Thomas Campbell and more.
