Seen: DGPH USA Mole Ride Tour @ MK Melrose

Argentinian design house DGPH anchored by founders Martin and Diego kicked off their short USA Mole Ride Tour with a stop at Munky King Melrose last night (9.27.07) featuring the release of their Mr. Topo figure (adFunture), exclusive MK Bubble Mole, several collab prints and posters, and the Topo Joe figure (Ningyoushi).  DGPH broke in the rennovated MK gallery space with an intense wall mural done with Paul and Ben from Nanospore.

Mr. Topo (500 pcs ?)  turned out well and is a strong release at 5" tall for $28.  The DIY version may prove to be pretty popular — nice shape with just enough detail to be interesting while still allowing creativity. Topo Joe made a surprise debut — nice crossover piece.   On the inflatable side, the MK Bubble Mole has a wild Elvis meets cheerful biker vibe (100 pcs).  The coolest piece had to be the Black flocked proto Sri Mole — unfortunately it sounds like this one is a ways off still.

The collab prints and posters featured a strong list of collaborators including  Aeiko, Hello Brute, Jeremyville, Julie West,  Jon Burgerman, Zeptonn + more.  Lots of variety here — something for everyone.  Reasonably priced at $60 for the prints (ed. of 25)  and $20 for the posters.

Martin and Diego spent most of the night greeting fans and signing MK Bubble Moles and Mr. Topos.  Martin cranked out some very nice customs on top of DIY Topos — a lot of time and effort and it shows in the pics.

The Mole Ride rolls on with a stop at Blu82/BM.la tonight and then their first exhibition of original paintings (not digital) @ project: on Saturday (9.29).   Good showing — great to meet the DGPH guys in person.  Come out for the show tonight or Saturday to  check it all out and welcome them to the states.
