Seen: Sneaker Pimps LA

Sneaker Pimps — the end-all, be all of travelling sneaker shows — hit LA this past Friday.  Crash Mansion was the scene for the massive party featuring  custom K-Swiss and Nike Kicks, live art by tokidoki, Bigfoot, Peekaboo Monster, Angry Woebots and live music.  This was our first Sneaker Pimps.  First up of course were the kicks.  In the main room, scores of custom K-Swiss sneakers were displayed on chain link fence displays ringing the concert area.  The smaller room featured Nike kicks including a  shoe / painting installation from Mister Cartoon.

The live painting was certainly a draw for many — from the canvas by
tokidoki to the collab work from the  Pocket Full of Monsters Crew on the Giant
K-Swiss shoe and shared canvas pieces. Down on the ground level, out in the cool breeze, Bigfoot did his  own thing on two large wood panels, just to the left of the quarter pipe.  tokidoki celebrated their  latest crossover  with Onitsuka Tiger with Simone’s live painting, free shirts for fans, and a display of their upcoming womens’ sneaker/boot combo.

Even with all the kicks and live art, the  emphasis was really on the party — mainly the concert.  As expected, there was a huge turnout — sneaker collectors,  hip-hop fans and oh yes — lovey ladies.   A great time — enjoy the pics.
