Mini Jerry from Muttpop

Muttpop’s mini line of figures based on the likeness of their artists began with the release of Mini Gobi. Several other minis are planned.  We’ve previously shown pictures of Mini Fabien with his fishy appearance and the scarf loving Mini Bill.  Today we’re stoked to bring you a detailed look at Mini Jerry.  Jerry as many of you probably know writes the Muttpop comics, does alot of the packaging and branding work, and has more Johnson Motors shirts that anyone else on planet earth 😉  In his super-deformed, mini-ized persona Jerry’s looking rather formidable yet oh so casual (well, ‘cept for the luchador mask!).

Eric Sosa began sculpting Mini Jerry based on Gobi’s illustration of the Mini Jerry character found on a previous Muttpop box.  It was quickly decided that there was not enough detail in one flat illustration, so Gobi created a series of turnarounds for Eric and his associates at Sosa studios to use for sculpting.  Jerry also worked up a few tentative colorways ontop of Gobi’s turnarounds.  The Muttpop mini line is shaping up nicely and there are a few surprises in store as well.

  1. Was this MONSTER5 idea to make the little figures right? I meet Monsters at Monster5 shop in Japan and said that gave you the first mini to show size and if you make you pay right? Monster is cool person! What is next sculpt from Monster5 for MUTTPOP? Monster did not tell me about next sculpt 🙁
    Tommy.

  2. hmmmm….i don’t know. yeah, it looks cool, but i’m getting the vibe from muttpop that they’re just taking advantage of the appeal of the lucha libre mask. i still really like the style though.

  3. that’s one seriously sweet sculpt!
Monster5 is a true sculpting legend, it’s tight as hell.
