Version 3.0 of the wildly popular I Am 8-Bit opens this Tuesday (4.17) from 7 to 11 PM @ Gallery 1988. Curated by Jon Gibson and Gallery 1988, the third installment of the annual art tribute to the classic 8-bit era of video games is set to impress. We took an unscheduled behind-the-scenes tour of 1988 during the install and without a doubt this is the best one yet. Until Tuesday, here’s a preview featuring pieces by Cameron Tiede, Luke Chueh, and Elizabeth Ito. In case you’re wondering, Cameron’s piece has painted cut-out wood characters mounted against a pained backdrop — stunning. Oh, and while we can’t show it… Craola’s piece is out of this world.
