UrbanMedium dropped their dope and eagerly awaited CheTrooper resin mini-bust at Munky King Melrose this past Friday (12.08.06). Wouldn’t you know it — we got there after the mad insane rush?!? Apparently, a line formed outside MK two hours before the event and by the time it started at 7PM a huge crowd rushed in to buy their CheTroopers and then scattered back out the door. Luckily, things picked up a bit later once again. While the civilians came and went, two imperial stormtroopers in full uniform armed with blasters were there throughout which was cool/wacky/fun all rolled into one.
Both the regular black w/silver specks and the very nice red/gold MK trooper (25) were available at the show. Derek and Heather were on-hand to meet fans and hand-customize CheTroopers with metallic paint markers. The event also featured an art show with numerous prints featuring the iconic Stormtroopers — both illustrations and wacky "live action" photographs. While Stormtroopers are cool, our favorite art were the digital prints of Kim Jung Il as Michael Jordan, James Bond and so on. Great stuff. It’s getting cliche — but props to Patrick and MK for a great event. Congrats to UrbanMedium on a very successful launch of their excellent CheTrooper bust. Want more pics?
