Seonna Hong’s next solo show, People in the City, opens on Saturday October 8th, 2005 at Sixspace gallery in Los Angeles (thru November 12th). Seonna Hong’s paintings depict an ever-present asian girl navigating a mundane yet somehow subtly off-kilter world. Much of her art has a nostaligic feel due to its slightly sepia-tinged color scheme. Other pieces are brighter filled with overtly cute animals. All of her work demands attention and feels "right". Seonna, the wife of Tim Biskup, is perhaps best known to toy collectors as the creator of Nuthugger and Tako Girl in the Neo-Kaiju mini-figure series.
