Jim Koch sent us these pics of his excellent custom Trexi aptly titled Killgore. This piece has a distinctly retro sci-fi look and feel to it and conjures up memories of War of the Worlds and the like. What’s particularly impressive to me is that Jim took a stock Trexi, chrome paint and a wire brush and managed to deliver a very realistic distressed metal look (I actually asked if he had substituted metal parts for the head or the body). In addition, he’s really managed to transform the Trexi according to his own vision. Beyond his excellent work on Killgore, I want to also mention Jim’s other credits including his work as the in-house Circus Punks artist, his original Skeeter figure from Adfunture, the CP 3-pack clown Trexi set, and his numerous customs (including a Chop Shop piece and upcoming pieces for the CP show in NYC). Talented and hard-working to the core.
