Kathie Olivas’ Misery Children series of paintings is charming and distrubing at the same time. The bright color pallette is welcoming yet the depictions of children are often chilling upon a deeper consideration. I’ve only recently become familiar with her work but in my personal opinion her work is incredible and deserves much more attention.
