Behind Blythe at Rotofgui (09.17.2005)

The next stop of the Behind Blythe show featuring the rebirth of the Blythe dolls opens at Rotofugi on September 17th with a reception from 6 to 10PM.  The Blythe Doll was released by Kenner in 1972 but was quickly discontinued.  This cult favortie among toy collectors has been revived by Japan’s Cross World Connections which with Takara has released several neo-Blythe dolls.  The show will feature the brand-new  Baby Roxy Blythe doll, a retrospective collection of  Blythe dolls, photo prints by Gina Garan, and a charity auction.  The auction will feature a rare limited edition Blythe doll as well as customized dolls from Japan with 100% of the proceeds going to the Red Cross’s Hurricane Katrina Relief efforts. The show  runs through  October 16th.
