Unbox Glow Show Lights Up Harajuku on Saturday
Unbox kicks of their snazzy travelling Glow Show with tonight’s (Saturday 10.6 Japan time) event at Milkboy Gallery in Harajuku, Tokyo. As you might guess by the name, the show celebrates toys that come to life in the dark – both glow-in-the-dark and black light reactive figures.
Unbox has revealed a pirate’s haul of special Glow Show editions from Christopher Ulrich, John Kenn Mortensen, Kenny Wong, Milkboy, Retroband, Taku Obata, Tetsunori Tawaraya, Too Natthapong, Ziqi and more. Toys will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis rather than lottery-based. Customers are limited to three toys and no more than one of any particular toy per trip through the line.
After tonight’s Japan stop, the Unbox Glow Show packs up and heads to final two stops: October 27 at Freight Gallery in San Antonio Texas and October 27th at the Bangkok Art & Culture Centre in Bangkok.
Hit the jump for a preview gallery. Many of these figures will be available at the remaining stops, while some are specific to tonight’s event.

Jaime & Mimi: The Milk Deliverer Debuts at TTF 2018
HK artist Yokooong has taken her Jaime & Mimi toys and switched things up. The original soft vinyl toys feature Jaime and his small dog Mini. With the new Milk Deliverer figure, the focus is Mimi (4.65”) and her adventures as a delivery dog. Mimi is fully-realized with articulated head and hands as well as fun set of accesories including messenger bag, milk bottle, newspapers, and perhaps the best of all: a Jaime doll. Talk about trading places – fun! The accessory becomes the star and vice versa! Too bad they didn’t change it to ‘Mimi and Jaime’ :)
Shiffa’s Dissected Dunny Customs
Shiffa has just released a teeny, tiny run of customs (edition of 2) based on the Half Ray Dunny (5”) from Jason Freeny x Kidrobot. Since these have gone unnamed, we’re calling them Dissected Dunnys. Starting with the base production figure, Shiffa has transformed the character into a retro ‘toon with what appears to be a completely resculpted head that carries from the exterior side over to the interior/dissected side. The skeletal detail matches up nicely with the character design – love the teeth.
While one of these mono customs had sold, there’s still one more waiting for a new home over at the Shiffa Shop for $350. plus shipping and handling
