Mame Moyashi, the talented folks behind the runaway-hit Maguro Senpai and a growing line of seafood figures are breaking the mold with a new ‘zoo’ series. First up for the new universe is Hattori Taro, a cat creature, or is it? At first glance, this is a walking fat cat, but when you get a look at the back, you realize… It’s a fat guy wearing a cat suit or <gulp> a skinned cat. Hattori’s exaggerated cartoony sculpt fuels the visual punch line—love the cat face and the stubby paws.The dark humor reminds us of the brand’s OG Maguro figure—a tuna contemplating his umm… culinary future as an order of sashimi.
Hattori Taro is available for pre-order for $68.99 through August 20th from select retailers including myplasticheart. The crazy cat should be released into the wild sometime in November.
