Luke Chueh – Hand-Painted Sad…Alone…Broken S.U.C.K.L.E. (6.4)
Created as a stretch goal for Sucklord’s S.U.C.K.L.E. pvc series, Luke Chueh’s Sad…Alone…Broken fig (2”) is based on his run of custom Sucklord figures for the first Super Suck Up! event. Rather than release his figure in a special solid color edition, Luke has gone all out –- creating an edition of 200 hand-painted Sad…Alone…Broken S.U.C.K.L.E.s to resemble the OG Super Suck Up! pieces. And… they are blister-carded too! These drop on Wednesday (6.4) @ Noon PDT [Pacific Daylight Time] from Luke’s web shop for $45 (+ s/h).
Oscar Mar x David Dick x Mindzai – Lethal Taco Kickstarter
Canadian Toy Boutique/Brand Mindzai has launched its kickstarter campaign for Lethal Taco, an 8” PVC vinyl figure created by Mexican artist Oscar Mar (Dunny Azteca 2) and sculptor David Dick. Seen above and after the jump in 3D renders, Lethal Taco is a Taquero – street taco vendor, a profession ubiquitous in Mexico. He’s also a hero aided by his ?trusty? sidekick simply called Meat. The burly character is ready for both of his duties with his meat cleaver, utility belt filled with sauces, and a comically small food preparer’s hat.
The Kickstarter rewards include a sticker pack and postcard for $20 CAD, the OG Lethal Taco figure for $80 CAD, a combo of the OG and Day of the Dead eds. for $160 CAD, and a super deluxe platter featuring the OG, Day of the Dead and Kickstarter exclusive Premium Cut edition (ed. of 10) for $500 CAD. Head on over to the Lethal Taco ks page for all the info. If all goes as planned, the rewards will be shipped in November and Lethal Taco will debut at DesignerCon in Pasadena, CA.
Pink Dead Kozik by Kevin Gosselin
After several retailer exclusive colors, Kevin Gosselin’s 15” Dead Kozik vinyl will soon be available in a glossy pink edition (50 pcs) for $200. Ask your favorite toy art purveyor for it. As a quick recap, Gosselin originally created an original 13” bust as an homage to Frank Kozik’s celebrated series of ‘dictator’ busts. With public demand for a production piece, he then funded the vinyl version visa kickstarter.
