Patrick Wong – New Platform Toy in Progress

Illustrator Patrick Wong has been turning heads of late with his stylish, well-executed customs featuring strong, memorable characters. Now he’s developing his own vinyl platform toy so that he can produce his own designs for collectors to enjoy.  Shown above in resin proto form, the 5” figure features a large oversized, oval shaped head and headphone like ‘ears’.  The design has evolved since Patrick posted a sculpt picture; the figure now is carrying an object (synthesizer?) under his right arm.  The platform has a smart, urban feel while still allowing considerable design flexibility.   Though he hasn’t yet picked a final name for the toy, Patrick is currently considering naming it Mannequin or  Mechanical Man.
