Reactor-88’s Custom Corner: MaloApril

Welcome to the March edition of Reactor-88's Custom Corner. This month we’re highlighting April Elliott, or better known as MaloApril to the toy community. April is a full-time artist based in North Fontana, California. She remembers making art since the age of 10, where she grew up on a block that consisted entirely of her family. April would hang out in her grandfather’s garage and create for hours each day. She began painting toys around 2008- starting with Mighty Muggs and then moving to other platforms. April loves going to shows and events and getting to know other artists- seeing their work and hearing their stories is what inspires her. April is mainly known for her Sugar Skull designs, but she also likes to branch out and explore new ideas from time to time. Regardless of the design direction she takes with a piece, they all have the same attention to detail that really makes her work stand out. The lines are very clean and precise, color palettes are well balanced, and sculpted accents add that final bit that really bring each piece together. April does take commissions, so if you’re interested in contacting her for a project you can email her at MaloCustoms[at]gmail[dot]com. If you’d like to follow along with her work, be sure to like her Facebook page and follow her over on Instagram.

Gravy Toys – Let’s Make Lonny!

Bwana Spoons and Gravy Toys are looking to reunite Lonny with his broseph Jeff and are in need of your help! They’ve created a Kickstarter Campaign to help boost production and are already more than half way to their goal! Lonny stands 5” tall with 5 points of articulation and will feature interchangeable parts with Jeff. Speaking of interchangeable parts, if they meet the stretch goal of 9K+, there will be new heads and arm attachments made for Jeff, which would make new brothers they’ve never met before. Some of those sculpts will be created by T9G and Paul Kaiju and that open things up even more with guest artists adding to the family.

If you wanted to see Lonny come to life, check out the Kickstarter HERE for all of the different pledge levels, which include prints, original drawings, tees, zines, and of course toys!

Doktor A. – Colonel Rombus Debut at ToyConUK

Doktor A. will be debuting his latest creation at this years ToyConUK. Please welcome Colonel Rombus, who was originally designed for the second series of the Mini Mechtorians. The debut/release will take place at this years ToyConUK, where he will be dropping 15 of the 50 “Coldcast Bronze” figures. Each figure stands 6” tall and feature an inset glass eye lens and metal brass winding key. They will retail £65 with the other 35 being released later online.

Now retired, the colonel was constructed to lead the army of Retropolis. To this day there has been no need for military action, though this doesn’t stop a perpetually sozzled Rombus telling tall stories of how he showed the natives a thing or two during his time in the Congo…

Fuller Designs - Fire King Panda

Almost something coming out from the World of Warcraft comes the Fire King Panda by Fuller Designs. This piece was commissioned by a fan of both Fuller Designs and Angry Woebots, as they provided the Panda King figure, which I’m sure both parties had a hard time painting/letting go. Fuller even left the arms unpainted to add to the effect of the Fire King Panda. Both the Sun Hat and weapon were sculpted out of ave’s apoxie and this custom even features a strap made of real leather. Some fine quality stuff going on here! More photos after the jump.

He can Transform and shapeshift into your wildest wet dream or your worst nightmare.  SHe is selfish and cares nothing about you. fuck your stupid problems, fuck your feelings, but also loves you and cares about you and puts more importance on you, more than anyone In your life, I love you I love you I love you. The black hole in her head eats all the pain and darkness in the world. he believes all her strength knowledge and luck comes from his only tooth, but in reality it's the sole survivor of her over active sweet tooth. Munko is Simple in form and mind and shape, yet so complex living on many levels and realities, not so simple that he can't feel multiple emotions and contradicting feelings and opinions all at once. She is telepathic and can read your deepest darkest thoughts, you cannot hide or lie to munko, when you are with munko you just be, and you will finally be at peace with your fucking self.
