Toy Art Gallery x Tim Clarke –- Totims Debut Edition (12.4)

2013-11-22_143_TAG

Toy Art Gallery has collaborated with talented creator Tim Clarke to bring his Totims concept to life as a stackable sofubi set.  Totims  stands 12” tall (3” diameter) and features four separate two-faced (front/rear) pieces that stack together -– a top character, two interchangeable middle characters that make up the middle of the stack and a stalwart bottom character. The set also comes with an alternate top character/’cap’ which among other things can be used to make two towers rather than one.

While he may not yet be well-known in the art community, Tim has created engaging characters over a thirty year career including designing and building puppets for the Jim Henson Company and Sesame street as well as dreaming up toys for numerous companies including Hasbro and Mattel.   The first edition of his Totims sofubi stack in bright pink drops on Wednesday (12.4) at 12 PM PST from shop.toyartgallery.com for $95.

For millions of years the TOTIMS have lived around us in virtual obscurity. Many thought that they were idols of a long lost primitive society depicted in stone. Little did we know that they are living, breathing creatures and they are tired of living in the shadows. Beware the rise of the TOTIMS! The Totims are made up of a highly classified society, with Kings, Generals, soldiers, and underlings. Many have said that those who possess TOTIMS derive certain powers to change the world around them. All we know is those that do have an uncanny power over those who don’t.
