Mr. Clement – Loll-ipop Ji Ja’s
Mr. Clement has been hard at work creating rainbow metallic awesomeness. The result is a trio of Loll-ipop Ji Ja pvc figures – each hand-painted by the man himself. While production toys are great, hand-painted editions from the artist are hard to beat. Limited to 50 sets, the figures are available for pre-order as a set (~ $117) or individually (~ $41).
Chris Ryniak x Gary Ham – Fatty Looper
Chris Ryniak has collaborated with Gary Ham on ‘Fatty Looper’ – his take on Gary’s Wooper Looper figure. As seen in this proto, Chris’s version carries the Ryniak Monster DNA with the huge bubble eyes and the wide proportions. Just like his slimmer cousin, Fatty Looper will be produced in Japan.
Craola – Ralf Vinyl Figure
We hope you got your pledges in for the Rancid Ralf edition figure from Craola’s “I’m Scared” Kickstarter Campaign, because this figure looks amazing so far! We cannot wait to see what other colorways they may be cooking up for future releases. The 2D images translated so well to this 3D prototype. So here is to more waiting for the final product!
Jerome Lu x Dynamite Rex – Shaolin Raaar Paint Tests + Demon Edition
Jerome Lu recently dropped by the Dynamite Rex offices to check out paint tests of his upcoming Shaolin Raaar as well as the previously unseen Demon Shaolin edition. As you can see in these Instagram shots, both look great which makes us believe that the vinyl Raaar’s are well on their way. We’ve been impressed with Raaar since it was shown back at Dcon 2012. Good things come to those who wait (cliché alert).
Kidrobot -- ‘Dunny Evolved’ Series Announced
Kidrobot has officially announced their upcoming ‘Dunny Evolved’ blind-box series. As the name implies, this one is all about evolution or progression of a design concept. Each of the five featured artists – Frank Kozik, McBess, Kronk, Huck Gee and Scott Tolleson, has created a trio of Dunnys – each an iteration or step in the evolution. As the promo graphic implies, we are guessing that each artist will go from minimal to complex with their three Dunnys. If you’re looking for alittle more in the way of a ‘preview’, KR also posted five silhouettes to instagram – each one presumably a different artist’s evolution (perhaps the highest evolution for each?).
Dunny Evolved will be released on October 10th (the day before NYCC) for $9.95/blindbox from Kidrobot and select retailers. It’s nice to see KR trying new concepts for their tried and true Dunny platform. Are you excited about the new series [Via Kidrobot Blog] ?
