Have you ever wished you could fall into Huck Gee’s Gold Life world filled with cunning Ninjas, brave Samurai and beautiful and bold Geishas? That wish is about to become as real as possible (well until the Holodeck is invented). In an exciting development, Huck Gee is working with Bearo and Nom Games on the upcoming BattleTails! mobile video game with soundtrack by the legendary DJ Qbert. While the game is in production and on track for a late 2013 release on both Android and ios platforms, Huck and Nom Games have just launched a Kickstarter campaign to make the game bigger and better with more features, bolder tech, and more characters, perhaps even the mighty Chardmonster.
Set in the kingdom of Kinausu, Battle Tails gives players the chance to lead a warrior clan on a heroic struggle. There are three clans to battle with — Clan Six Tails (Snow Monkeys!), Clan Ten Thousand Winds (magical tigers) and Boso Ichiban Clan (rag tag human rabble rousers). Reading between the lines just a bit, the game design seems to follow a lane-based tower defense approach with live-action elements via controllable Hero characters.
Battle Tails looks like it will be a real treat for Huck’s fans and collectors. The early visuals seen in the Kickstarter video (below) and promo images stay true to his character designs and the various game elements should unfold the Gold Life backstory. Speaking of treats, the campaign rewards start with the BattleTails Starter Pack ($15) which includes a supply of in-game gold and an exclusive item pack and run through limited-edition customs from each Clan (8” – $1000, 20” – $6500).
