Brandt Peters – Old Timey Stingy Jack (2.13)
Brandt Peters’ Old Timey Stingy Jack sofubi from Tomenosuke + Circus Posterus drops this Wednesday (2.13). First available at Brandt’s solo in January, the retroish gray/silver+black Old Time edition (120 pcs, $95) is quite nice – with gray/silver sprays over a clear body for a distinct look.
As with previous T+CP drops, Old Timey will be available from Circus Posterus’s Online Shop for North American customers and Tomenosuke’s site for everyone living outside of North America. CP will be putting their figures up randomly on Wednesday while Tomenosuke will release them at 10 PM Japan Time. For those who love unpainted toys, Tomenosuke is also releasing half of the unpainted run (12 pcs, $125) at the same time for those outside of North America.
Sneak Peek: The Loyal Subjects x Hasbro -- Transformers
It’s almost time for Autobots vs. Decepticons. Here’s a close up look at eight of the new Transformers mini-figs dropping soon from The Loyal Subjects. These definitely are bigger than your average mini, especially in terms of volume – solid, sturdy figures. What might not be readily apparent is the tremendous amount of articulation ( at neck, waist, shoulders, wrists). The articulation at the shoulders and wrists pays off nicely as each of the characters comes with at least one snugly fitting accessory (mostly blasters, though Grimlock also has a red sword). If you’re at Toy Fair, TLS is showing these at their booth (#4618). Got a favorite?
Scott Tolleson -- ‘A Tokyo Strain’ Deadbeet (2.15)
Scott Tolleson’s upcoming ‘Tokyo Strain’ Deadbeet pays homage to Bullmark’s Tokyo edition color scheme. The newest painted Deadbeet features a yellow base vinyl with green, black, silver and orange sprays and comes with an edition-specific header (nice touch!). Limited to 20 pieces (might last a minute or so…), Tokyo Strain drops this Friday (2.15) @ 10 AM PST for $70 each.
Tara McPherson – Two Timed Release Print Editions
You may have heard that while they were in Mexico, the Brooklyn apartment building that Tara McPherson and her husband, Sean, lived in was ravaged by fire. Thankfully no one was injured. Tara and Sean have since moved but lost pretty much everything in the disaster.
As part of their recovery efforts, Tara is releasing two new Timed Release signed/numbered giclee editions through The Cotton Candy Machine -- ‘The Love Space Gives is as Deep as the Oceans’ (24” x 24”, $100) and ‘Bunny in the Moon’ (8.5” x 11”, $25). Orders for both prints will be accepted through 2.15 on CCM . As these are timed editions, the edition size for each will be determined by the number of orders received. The prints will ship at the end of March. For collectors, fans and supporters, this release is the perfect way to help out Tara.
