Internationally renowned artist Ai Wei Wei has collaborated with HK artist Eric So on Aibudao, an exhibition to be shown in the Museum of Art and Design’s booth [C2-02] at the Art Stage Singapore show (1.24 – 1.27). As you can see in the promo image above, the two have collaborated on a stylized sculptural rendition of Ai Wei Wei featuring exaggerated elements including the artist’s flame-like hair as well as his rather round torso with a treatment that will be fondly familiar to Eric So’s fans. While the piece looks amazing, we’re left to wonder whether it’s a large-scale sculpture or a smaller fine art multiple, or perhaps both? We shall see soon enough [well, we’d like to know now…].
‘People will never waver from their faith in the concept of freedom and democracy. Similarly, the evolutionary force of life will never diminish.’ – Ai Wei Wei
‘As artists, we are destined to be challenged by persistence and finding the true meaning of creativity’ – Eric So
How nice toy. I like it baby. Please give a one.
