Rotobox x Kuso – SDCC 2013 Revolver Girl 6ix Possibilities

Kuso is showing art for several editions of Rotobox’s Revolver Girl 6ix, one of which will apparently be produced and released as an SDCC ‘13 exclusive.  I’m digging  the blue/gray ‘Project Diva’ edition as the successor to the debut Barenaked design which was released at last year’s comic-con.

Graves & Spoons – Rootbeer Tapir (1.12)

Bwana Spoons is busy cleaning up the mess left by the new Rootbeer Tapirs (w/glitter)which drop this Friday (1.12) @ the usual spot.  While we’re not sure they will look exactly like the progress shot shown from his flickr (maybe minus the blanket?), the new Tapirs are sure to be a hit with fans of the Graves & Spoons toy.

Toy Art Gallery Unleashes its ‘Toy Giants’ (1.12)

Over the course of a year, Toy Art Gallery has curated and produced large format fiberglass art toy sculptures for their Lifesize Figure Series.  While oversized figures have certainly been done before, TAG’s growing line of ten life size figures available in multiple editions, many with articulation, offers an unprecedented effort to popularize, reinvigorate, and advance this show stopping category of collectibles.

TAG will showcase its impressive lifesize lineup with the ‘Toy Giants’ exhibition (1.12) featuring fiberglass figures from Okedoki, Blamo Toys, David Flores, Arkiv, Paul Kaiju, T9G, Nathan Hamill, Francesco de Molfetta, Quim Tarrida and Bob Dob in numerous, colorful variations.   Instead of treating large figures as special projects to be released sporadically, TAG’s focused efforts are aimed at making them a high-profile, readily available, staple for collectors looking for standout pieces.
