After several years of running an online shop and a booth at Frank and Son’s, Kevin Cao of DeKorner has expanded his business by partnering with Puff Monkey to open a retail store in a prime location in Monrovia, CA on the corner of Myrtle and Lemon in the heart of the city. DeKorner’s slice (or is that corner?) of the store features a selection of art toys including blind boxes, larger vinyls, 1:6 scale as well as popular action figures. DeKorner will also keep customers tapped into the pulse of the vinyl toy scene with regular signings and release parties. More than just a vinyl spot, the hybrid store offers a strong mix of product. For those looking for kawaii items, Puff Monkey has you covered as an official Hello Kitty retailer.
If you live in the western part of San Gabriel Valley, DeKorner is a welcome addition as one of the few vinyl toy shops in the area. As a plus, it offers convenient shopping with an easily accessible location via the 210 freeway and plenty of adjacent free parking. Finally, Friday evening is a great time to visit as the city’s weekly Friday Night Family festival four-block span on Myrtle is directly adjacent to the shop and offers food and craft stalls, as well as a compact farmer’s market.
