Brent Nolasco’s Hellion Resin Figure
Brent Nolasco has been hard at work finishing up his latest sculpt, a new character by the name of Hellion. This figure stands a whopping 11” tall and will be cast in resin by Dodgrr. Hellion looks pretty rad as is in its apoxie sculpt form, but we cannot wait to see what kind of paint application Brent throws onto this figure when its ready to go! On Brent’s Instagram feed, someone mentioned this should go into sofubi and we agree!

Huck Gee – The Wolf Rider Print
Up for grabs now is a brand spankin’ new print by Huck Gee! The Wolf Rider Print is printed on fine watercolor paper and measures 22” x 11” and comes signed and numbered in an edition of 100 copies. You can find them HERE for $65 a piece. Perhaps we can see a run of customs in the near future featuring the Wolf Rider? Let’s hope so!
"Beneath the masks lie expert warriors, handpicked and rigorously tested by General Shirokuri himself. The wolves they ride are massive, fearsome, wintery beasts with minds as sharp as their claws and teeth. The bond is a lifelong commitment, paired when the wolf is still a suckling pup. They spend the rest of their days together. Eating, training, sleeping, the two become one. There is no distinction between beast and rider once joined in battle, communicating through a complex system of touches, motions and whispers, allowing them to be as effective in the roar of a battlefield as when prowling an enemy on padded paws in a hushed forest." - Chapters of the North, Volume III - Mahotsukai Hoohige

New SDCC 2013 Toy Cultyard Layout
For 2013, SDCC has consolidated the Toy Growers Cultyard into one contiguous section (dashed lines) and relocated it to the upper left corner of the convention center as you can see in the annotated map above (booth list after the jump). Previously the Cultyard booths were a bit spread out with several large video game companies sprinkled in-between. It’s still early, so don’t be surprised if some of the booth tenants shift slightly. Props to Mr. Z for the map and booth list.
The new layout seems like a modest improvement since all the booths are now together in one nicely defined spot. What do you think of this new layout ?

Reactor-88’s Custom Corner – Jason Jacenko
Welcome to Reactor-88's Custom Corner. For the month of November we're highlighting Jason Jacenko. Jason runs 626ink- a custom tattoo studio and gallery in Melbourne, Australia. He's been tattooing for twenty years and has been a standout in the custom toy scene for as long as I can remember. His work leans toward the creepy, but even his scariest characters always seem to have some lovable quality to them- I think it's the eyes. The most impressive aspects of his work for me are the accuracy and attention to detail that he injects into each piece he creates- they almost look alive. Also, the texture and depth in his work can look so realistic it's easy to forget you're looking at a flat toy surface. So if you're like me and want to make sure you don't miss any of Jason's work, be sure to friend him over on Facebook - he shows some great work in progress shots. If you'd like to purchase one of Jason's paintings or custom toys, be sure to check out his new online store.
