Marc Turnipseed’s Renga Kickstarter

Bay Area designer Marc Turnipseed is following his dream of creating his own art toy, Renga, a master swords maker and so-so swordsman inspired by Feudal Japan.  So far Matt’s created a strong prototype showcasing the well-sculpted character design and is now looking to raise funds for vinyl production via Kickstarter.  We’re impressed with the character – somewhat familiar yes, but executed nicely with a definite flair.  Renga’s not quite your typical bad ass.  While he has an imposing body, his hunched, aged, and slightly hobbled  appearance lends him a bit of intrigue and quirkiness.  If you like what you see, take a second to check out the kickstarter page before the ending date (11.8), watch Matt’s video about the origins of the project, and maybe even back the toy project.
