Toy Tokyo NYCC Exclusive MC Supersized China
With NYCC taking place in Toy Tokyo’s home town, you know they plan on doing some big things. One of which is the release of Ron English’s MC Supersized China figure, which is limited to only 60 pieces. Ron will also be signing at the TT booth #3303 on Friday, October 12th at PM. Toy Tokyo listed a list (not final) of some of the goodies that will be found at their booth during NYCC, check it out after the jump.
Lou Pimentel x myplasticheart – Ghost Bloom Junior for NYCC
So you’ve seen the unpainted test shots and have been waiting for a sight of the debut Ghost Blossom Junior from Lou Pimentel and mphlabs. Wait no more. As you can see above and perhaps guessed from the name, this debut edition to be released at NYCC (10.11 – 10.14) is a painted GID figure. While we prefer the glow look, the new Junior is easy on the eyes in ambient light too (check the photo after the jump). Pick up the very first Junior from myplasticheart’s booth [#3313] for $35 at the ‘con. Also, don’t forget that Lou will be signing at the booth on Saturday (11.13) from 3 to 4 PM.
Dudebox @ NYCC

UK newcomer Dudebox is hopping the pond for NYCC and bringing with them quite a haul – by our count, six new vinyl figures. First up there are two Pete Fowler and Friends’ figures – Dai Ocean and an as yet un-named Owen fiend (sneak after the jump). On the Dude front, there are three large dudes (300 pieces each) – Eugence McGeekson by Andreas Krapf in his tighty whities, Franken by Riccard Bucchioni and Taps Aff! by Conzo. So that’s five… and there’s apparently another Dude yet to be revealed, perhaps ‘Bob’ ? All of this will be waiting for you at Dudebox’s booth (#2915).
Amanda Visell’s Newest Wood Idols
Amanda Visell dropped ten unique new Wood Idols today and promptly sold eight of them. The new Idols feature popular Super Heroes, the King of Pop and other Pop Culture icons. Each of the Idols comes in a hand-painted, Idol specific box and are available for $800. Very cool.
Brutherford Industries – CMYK Melt Knuckles + Ice Scream Jewelry
Brutherford Industries has a double release set for this Wednesday (10.3). First up are the CMYK Melt Knuckles. Far from being a war monger, Brutherford considers his new pieces as a provocative and visually exciting exploration of the duality of man. Cast in polyurethane, each Melt Knuckle is 1:1 size with real brass knuckles and is available in the four colors: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. For extra fun, the three non-black colors have a special pigment which makes the pieces glow under a black light. Each Melt Knuckle is hand-made in New Jersey, comes packaged in a box with artwork from Tamara Petrosino and will be available for $40.
Next up, Brutherford drops the bling with 1.25” Ice Scream Man Pendant cast in 99.9% pure sterling silver with a 24k gold plated cone accent, mounted on a 16” x .04” sterling silver ball chain. These hand-made pieces will go for $75 each.
Both the CMYK Melt Knuckles and the Ice Cream Man Pendants will drop on Wednesday, October 3rd 2012 @ Noon EDT over at brutherford.com
Clutter x Ron English -- Exclusive Pink Fat Tony
Clutter has joined up with Ron English to release an exclusive Pink Fat Tony vinyl. This is the beloved Fat Tony toy in Clutter’s signature pink shade. Limited to 100 pieces, half of the Pink Fat Tony figures will be available at NYCC [booth #3004] beginning on Friday October 12th for $99.99/figure while the other 50 pieces will be sold through the POPaganda webshop on 10.12 @ Noon EDT for $99.99 each.
Bitsumo @ NYCC – XL version + Pandit Nemsis
For NYCC, RAWRS will be unleashing a bigger, badder Bitsumo as well a brand-new nemesis figure. Bitsumo XL measures 7” tall, 7.5” wide and cast solid is a hefty 4 pounds, dwarfing the OG 4” version. In addition to Bitsumo XL, NYCC will see the debut of Pandit – an evil breed of diabolical killer panda humanoids. Look for both figures in booth 3115.
Proto Monday – Dudebox’s Pete Fowler and Fiends
Happy Proto Monday to you. Here’s an exclusive look back at the design and development of Pete Fowler’s inaugural art toy project with Dudebox – Pete Fowler and Fiends, which will debut at NYCC with two figures. Roughly a year ago, Pete sat down with Dudebox to brainstorm a new figure line that would be distinct from his previous efforts. Once the idea of a Fowler designed platform was agreed to, work began from Pete’s original drawings through 3D renders and 3D printed protos.
During design and development, attention was paid to ensure that the figures were not top heavy and would balance properly and that the head, body, arms, and ears/horns accessories were interchangeable. In the end, a mix of rotocast and injection molding was chosen to achieve the desired playability goals.
As you can see in these exclusive pictures, Pete designed a universal platform body and then created two separate characters – Dai and Owen, Welsh names reflecting Fowler’s homeland. Each character features his own individual head sculpt. Dai’s mustached egg-shaped cranium offers a nice contrast to Owen’s decidedly more bulbous head. As we previously posted, the first Dai figure, Dai Ocean, will be released at NYCC. Which leaves Owen’s debut to one of the ‘biggest names in vinyl toy culture’. Check the sneak after the jump.
We’re looking forward to Owen’s full reveal, the NYCC drops, as well as the eventual release of the three winning designs from the ‘Design a Fiend’ contest.
