BeeFy’s Big Bad Buddha (9.2012)

BeeFy & Co.
are taking the plunge  into vinyl toys with production assistance from Kuso Vinyl.  First up is their Big Bad Buddha – a fierce, yet comical monk.  The seated 7” figure features a squat sculpt with a no-nonsense expression and comes with drinking gourd and traditional pipe (seen in the proto flier after the jump).  Taking an unconventional approach to Zen, this Monk is ready to throw-down, as his bloody fist attests.

Plans call for four editions of the Big Bad Buddha – the flesh color OG (250 pcs, ComiKaze 2012), Stone (150 pcs, DesignerCon), Gold Edition (100 pcs, WonderCon 2013, not pictured) and the Kuso Vinyl exclusive Wood Edition.  Of the three pictured editions, the Stone and Wood are the most appealing with realistically rendered material textures which compliment the Buddha concept.  The OG edition on the other hand feels a bit underwhelming perhaps because of its doll-like coloring.   While pricing is not confirmed yet, BeeFy expects to offer the OG for around $90.

Be sure to drop by Kuso Vinyl’s SDCC booth to get a first-hand look at the Big Bad Buddha.
