Hasbro kicks off its ‘My Little Pony Project 2012’ with the headline event, the ‘Friendship is Magic’ group show opening on Friday, May 5th 2012 (7 – 11 PM) @ Toy Art Gallery on Melrose.  Co-presented by Hasbro, Mighty Fine, and Sweet Streets, the exhibit will feature customized 18” My Little Pony vinyl figures from 25 international artists including Touma, Luke Chueh (above), 64 Colors, Julie West, J*Ryu, Sket One, kaNO, COPE2, Dabs Myla, Angry Woebots, Martin Hsu  and more.    So if you grew up with fond memories of My Little Pony, TAG is definitely the place to be on Saturday evening.  And if you wince at the thought of the sugary, without a doubt girly TV show /brand, several of the artists have given the character a shot of edge.  So have no fear (mostly…).

After checking out the main show, head on over to Melrose for ‘My Little Pony Night Out’ (5.5) with special events from Munky King, JapanLA, and Joyrich.
