Kidrobot’s All City Breakers Mini Series
Now this is different. Kidrobot’s upcoming ‘All City Breakers’ Mini Series features affordable monochromatic 2” breaker figures inspired by 70’s hip-hop culture. Available in four neon colors, these take some of the basic appeal of the ubiquitous green army men and channel it into a decidedly more positive direction. Due to drop on September 15th, each blind foil pack comes with 1 breaker and 1 boom-box accessory for $ 1.95.
Personally, these new figures are pretty sweet. Are they designer toys? Not in the conventional sense, no. However, they do feel like a new, fresh, urban alternative to a mainstream toy staple with a much wider audience than some of KR’s core offerings. In addition to entertainment licensed products, this is another way for Kidrobot to grow in the face of a relatively flat market for designer/art toys.

They should do a series of skateboarders in the same style! That would be dope!
